Advancing health research for Afghanistan

Afghanistan Healthcare Volunteer Team was created to strengthen health research, scientific learning, and professional collaboration among healthcare workers and students in Afghanistan.

Our main focus is health research in Afghanistan. We believe that meaningful improvement in healthcare requires reliable evidence, ethical research, continuous education, and teamwork among committed professionals.

We work to encourage the young generation of doctors, nurses, researchers, health-sector specialists, and other healthcare professionals to take an active role in health research alongside their clinical, educational, and professional activities.

As Founder and CEO, I believe Afghanistan needs committed researchers who can use knowledge, professional ethics, and a spirit of service to support a stronger healthcare future for our country.

A Message from Board Member

I began my research journey in the early years of my university education, driven by curiosity and a desire to understand the health challenges affecting my community. As a woman researcher in Afghanistan, the journey has not always been easy, but it has strengthened my commitment to research and service.

After decades of conflict, Afghanistan faces major gaps in health data, research capacity, infrastructure, and health systems. I believe research is an essential first step toward understanding these challenges and building a stronger, more resilient health system.

I know that each study may be a small step, but I believe that our collective work today can become part of the foundation for a healthier Afghanistan tomorrow. I also hope to encourage more young Afghan women to see research as a meaningful way to serve their communities and contribute to science.

Research is a journey of curiosity, evidence, and service. I am proud to have started that journey early and committed to continuing it.
